Inner Conflict

Inner conflict, whether conscious or unconscious can stall progress toward what you want in a big way. 

For example, if you have a goal of getting a promotion at work, and yet really don’t want more responsibility, the inner conflict will keep you from getting that promotion. 

Another example: you’ve been laid off of work, prefer to pursue something new, and yet have all these limiting beliefs around getting into a field where you have no experience, especially in a tough economy.   So, you look for a job in your current field, and yet you really don’t want to do that type of work anymore, so you have no motivation to update your resume or go on job interviews, and if you do, you don’t have the enthusiasm needed to get the job. 

If you’ve been taken off of work due to injury or disability, want to get well and feel better and yet really don’t want to have to go back to work, you’ll find your healing is slow. 

If you want to be in a loving relationship, and yet want to be able to do what you want to do when you want to do it, you might find it hard to find the right person. 

The What I Want worksheet in the Bright Future Workbook is designed to help you find any inner conflicts that may be blocking you from what you [think you] want. First clear any negative emotions you might have around not having what you want.  If you don’t have as nice a car as someone else has, and you want a car because they have that car, you might clear up any inferiority or envy you might have about that person having the car. 

Limiting beliefs are another form of inner conflict.  You may believe you have to work super hard to get something, yet you don’t want to work so hard at it, and so you don’t.  Limiting beliefs are the most common type of inner conflict and result in self sabotage.   It is important to recognize what your limiting beliefs are.  Once you know what they are, you can quickly clear them with EFT or the HAMR technique.  Sometimes it requires the help of a skilled EFT Practitioner and Abundance Coach.  Someone that can not only help you clear the negatives, but also provide a reframe in a setup statement that opens your mind to new possibilities.   You could also get more training by getting Gary Craig's EFT Training DVDs.

If there is something you want that you’re not manifesting, look deeply to see if you can determine if it is something you truly want or is it something you feel you “should” want.  Ask yourself why you wouldn’t want it?  Ask yourself if there is something else you want that conflicts with this want.  Ask yourself what the consequences would be if you got what you were asking for.  (And I do hope you are asking.  If not, look for my next bright-blip on this subject). 

I personally have a goal to work just 25 hours a week with clients.  Actually, the goal is to work 25 hours a week, period, and yet I’m doing other forms of “work”.  So, how can I work 25 hours a week with clients if I’m spending about 20 hours a week working on other things?  Because I had this inner conflict, I was not attracting the clients.  And at this point, I am attracting amazing abundance, so why not this?  So, I sat down this morning to think about that.  When I do Step 3 in my workbook everyday, I do feel the resistance on this subject, and yet, had not tapped on it.  This morning, I tapped on it.  I tapped on the resistance and realized the conflict.  Then I tapped on “this conflict” and suddenly a very simple answer appeared and I could actually feel the pathways to what I want opening up.  It was very powerful!

This is what happens when you use the workbook everyday.  This is what happens when you keep focusing on what you want.  If you are not taking the time each day to focus on what you want and analyze and clear the negatives that come up when you’re focusing on it, then you may not want it.  There is nothing wrong with that, but if you are not happy with what you have or where you’re at, I highly recommend getting into the habit of following this process.   If you need help, feel free to contact me :).
